National Healthy Bones Week has been a national joint initiative between Dairy Australia and Osteoporosis Australia for the past 14 years, highlighting the important role of calcium-rich foods, such as dairy, in the development and maintenance of healthy bones and prevention of osteoporosis.
This year’s theme, ‘Lifting the Lid on Lunch,’ focused on the benefits of consuming a calcium rich lunch at primary school to maximise peak bone mass.
Congratulations to the Walwa Primary School Canteen in Victoria who has won the title of Australia's best bone–building canteen and a prize of $2000! Grade 5 student Maddelin Quick submitted the winning vote and was rewarded with a $100 Rebel Sport voucher. Click here to view the winning state entries.
